Weather-Worn Memories

Since I can remember, I have been drawn to rivers, lakes, gravel piles, and anywhere I could become lost in a sea of smooth, colorful stones. Inspired by countless moments, I use glass to recreate the recollection of these rocks. At times, perhaps to express the precarious art of remembering and learning from the past without reliving it, I stack the stones I have created. To me, they are an evocative metaphor for personal experiences and remembrances. The balanced rocks' unstable presence is made more apparent as the nature of their material is understood. We hold on to moments that are not meant to last, and we wait for the seemingly inevitable moment when they will become nothing more than a pile of broken glass.
